Server Maintenance Complete
by brandon in News at Sun, 20 Jul 2008 16:31:20 GMT
I did some server maintenance today, that would explain why every GATM server was down earlier (or maybe no one noticed because it was in the wee hours of the morning)

Anyways, everything is all updated, cleaned up, defragged and backed up (Advance Dupes and gNIX information like beers and wristbands and whatnot).

I was also able to fix the TF2 which didn't want to start for the last week. And I think Lost Coast content should be mounted on the Arcadium.

The Wall (again...)

The Wall has been fixed up and we're ready to start handing out keys again. For those of you who didn't get to post yet, send me a PM so I can give you one.

P.S. Notice to the new URL, it got moved.

The Wall

As promised, the new website feature. We present to you, The Wall.

You guys can thank Chad for this, he's done lots of hard work to get it working (and work it does!). To be safe, lets consider it in beta testing stages, but it seems to be working perfectly.

The Wall is a tool for leaving a visual lasting impression on the community. Each time you spray you will need a key (which we will reward to people for various things).

The make dimensions are limited to total of 250px. Your image width + height cannot be over 250. So an image 200x50 would be fine, 100x150 would be fine... just not 150x150 or anything larger.

If you guys would like a key, let us know in here and we'll get started handing them out.

Enjoy and any feedback is welcome.

Plans & Clarifications
by brandon in News at Sun, 29 Jun 2008 09:40:46 GMT
So here is a little scoop on what to expect in the short future:
  • More matches against other communities... we're going to make this a regular event
  • Gear replaces gNIX - more details below
  • CS:S server
  • New website features
  • More community events
  • New custom gamemodes

People have been confused about Gear. When it replaces gNIX, it isn't going to cost anything to play on our servers... it never has and never will. Gear is just a more modern tool to replace gNIX (which has been around forever!). Although Gear has been designed to also include the ability to give people rewards for donating to server costs. It isn't cheap to run this stuff, and not that anyone cares... which we don't blame you... but people might care enough to take advantage of some cool features we've implemented in game as a way to thanks to people who donate.

As far as the new website features... keep a close look on the main page, because we're going to be adding something really cool in the near future :)

Please go ahead and test it all out!
